Henry Gibbons Guy

Henry studied painting at Glasgow School of Art and came to London to study at The Princes Drawing School; going on to work in the school’s Print Room and then for the Young Artists Programme. Most of his paintings are of various areas in London – Hackney farm, Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill or the view out the bedroom window – some painted on the spot and others from drawings and memory. Wandering around and drawing ‘little moments’ is an important part of his daily routine. His favourite places in London are the National Gallery and the many small hidden bookshops.

Much time is spend making quick drawings on the streets, undergrounds and in cafes trying to capture the 'happenings'. The larger collages and paintings usually start from observational drawing to create a 'real' space which then develop into metaphorical or psychological space and in some instances the imagined world takes over. Through paint and collage the work explores formal contrasts of flat patterned surface with spatial depth as well as narrative.

Ben Nathan

Ben Nathan finished studying at the Prince's Drawing School in 2009. He graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2008. During his time at the Slade, he went on an exchange to Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem.

Ben Nathan's paintings are partly a response to his explorations in and around London. Most of his work is inspired by out-of-bounds areas and industrial landscapes that he finds fascinating. He attempts to create an inhabited space, where the viewer is somewhat drawn into his world.

Hannah Turner-Duffin

b.1984 London. Hannah studied BA Fine Art at University College Falmouth 2004-2007. Completed the Drawing Year 2009 and is currently an artist in residence at The Princes Drawing School.
Hannah’s current works are landscape confabulations. Imagined plains are collated with childhood memories and found images in an attempt to get a hold on a place or situation somewhere between nature, our own reality or dreamland.  Working in paint, print and drawing, facts are inked in and emerge as a mental space, a pixelated flashback or static daydream.
Inspectors make a common appearance in her work. These characters conduct explorations of natural phenomena and beauty, failed inventions (hearing apparatus in particular), current affairs, industrial landmarks, and particular memories amongst others.
