This portrait class allows students to focus on just drawing the head. There will be two models, one male and one female, holding one pose each evening allowing time for serious and careful study. Students are encouraged to look at the formal aspects of the head and to see how the particularities of individual faces can make the drawing into portrait. Students usually work on one drawing per evening and at the end there is an informal discussion.
Equipment and material: Paper is available to buy at the school and charcoal is provided free of charge. Students should bring any other drawing materials they wish to use, including any coloured pencils or pastels.
