Q: Are courses open to students of all ages?
A: Most courses are suitable for students from the age of 18 upwards.
Q: Are the classes suitable for beginners?
A: We do have a couple of classes which are suitable for complete beginners, see courses which say suitable for all levels. However many are more suited for students that have some drawing experience.
Q: Do all the classes have life models?
A: All our in-house studio-based classes use life models. Depending on the course the models will either be nude or clothed.
Q: Do you offer courses other than just life drawing?
A: There are a variety of courses which are located out of the studios, in and around London including museums and galleries, cathedrals and parks.
Q: Do you provide materials for the classes?
A: For the in-house classes easels, drawing boards and charcoal are available to use. There is also paper for sale at the studios at cost price.
Q: Are there classes for kids?
A: There is a Saturday morning class offered to school children aged 12–18 and the School often runs holiday courses for teenagers.
Q: How often are the courses?
A: The School has three terms within an academic year — Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. Each term is 10 weeks and each course is once a week.
Q: Must I commit to the ten weeks of the course?
A: We would expect you to commit to the full term of classes however for our drop-in classes you can attend just one session or more.
Q: How many courses can I apply for per term?
A: You can enrol for a maximum of 2 daytime and 1 evening course a week.
Q: Do you offer drop-in classes?
A: There is a drop-in life drawing class held on a Saturday (where you pay per class) for those who wish to try a class before committing to a full 10-week course.
Q: How do I pay for a course?
A: You can pay either by cheque made out to “The Prince’s Drawing School” or by credit card either online or via phone. There is a £2 surcharge if you pay by card.
Q: Is the school accessible for disabled students?
A: The building in which the school is located is easily accessed for wheelchair users.
