The Prince's Drawing School

Catherine Goodman

Artistic Director

 

Catherine Goodman studied at Camberwell School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools. She helped establish The Prince’s Drawing School in 2000. She has shown her work across the UK and was awarded the BP portrait first prize in 2002 for her portrait of Dame Cicely Saunders, which was reproduced as a Royal Mail stamp in 2006. She is represented by Marlborough Fine Arts and currently lives and paints in London.

 


Teresa Albor

Chief Executive

 

Teresa has worked at the director level in both the non-profit and private sector. She recently returned to London from a three-year assignment in Macedonia where she served as the Director of Communications for a government development agency, and before that was Managing Director of London-based Absolute Return for Kids (ARK). Teresa has a Masters Degree in Economics and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in Environmental Design and Engineering.

 


Clara Drummond

Postgraduate Programme Manager

 

Clara Drummond is responsible for the Drawing Year postgraduate programme, working part-time on Thursday and Friday. As a former Drawing Year student her role is to be the first point of contact for students, to provide support and advice as well as to co-ordinate projects and visits that enhance the students year of study. Clara is a practising artist who recently participated in the 2006 BP Portrait Award. She has also recently curated and exhibited in an exhibition at Eleven gallery.

 


Emily Haworth-Booth

Postgraduate Programme Registrar

 

Emily read English Literature at Cambridge University, and has since worked at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, the Brodsky Center for Innovative Print and Paper in New Jersey, and graphic design studios in New York and London, before joining the staff at The Prince's Drawing School. She draws and writes comics and was awarded second prize in the 2008 Observer/Jonathan Cape Graphic Short Story Prize. She is also an active campaigner on sustainability issues. Jackie Honsig-Erlenburg

Public Programme Manager

 

Jackie studied for her degree of Visual Arts in Interior Design in Australia and has since completed various Art History and practical art courses in both Italy and England. She has spent time in Florence learning the fresco technique and studying the great Italian fresco cycles and Italian. She has also lived in Norway prior to joining the Drawing School. She is currently studying part-time for her degree in Art History.

 


Swapna Reddy

Public Programme Administrator

 

Swapna studied Medicine and International Health at University College London before pursuing her passion for art. After completing an art administration internship at the Nettie Horn, Brick Lane and Second Space Galleries, she worked on the Summer Exhibition 2008 at the Royal Academy of Arts before joining the Drawing School. Swapna is on maternity leave for 2010.

 

 


Corinne Mynatt

Public Programme Administrator

 

Corinne began her BA Fine Art studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York before transferring to Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design, London. She completed her BA Fine Art in London in 2006 and went on to work as part of the Library and Education team at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead. Corinne then returned to London to work at Whitechapel Gallery before joining us at The Prince’s Drawing School. Corinne is a practising artist who has shown her work nationally and internationally and was shortlisted for the Jerwood Prize for Drawing in 2004.

 


Clemence Viel

Office Manager/PA to the Artistic Director and Chief Executive

 

Clemence's profile is both business (Masters of Science in Management, HEC Paris, 2004) and physical theatre (Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris, 2006). Clemence has worked for three years in marketing/administration for fair trade, social enterprise and Corporate Social Responsibility companies both in Paris and London. She also performs, directs and teaches physical theatre.

 


Rosie Thwaites

Young Artists Programme Manager

 

Rosie studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, before going on to train as an Art Teacher, and teaching in schools for four years. She co-ordinated the community arts programme at a Visual Arts Specialist School, before moving to The Drawing School.

 

 


Alison Drewitt

Young Artists Programme Assistant and

Kensington Palace studios Technician

 

Alison studied Architecture at Cambridge University and has since been an Architectural Assistant and worked in theatre as a Production Designer. She has also exhibited her drawings and illustrations and recently completed an Art Foundation at Camberwell College of Art.

 


Alex Cree

Lead Studio Technician

 

Alex Cree studied on the drawing year 2006/7 and graduated from Canterbury Christchurch (2002). He is a practicing artist and his work can be found on www.alexcree.co.uk

 


Massimo Franco

Print Room Technician

 

Massimo works part time supporting tutors in the day-to-day running of the Print Room. Previously a Drawing Year student, Massimo is an artist, who has been selected for the BP Portrait Award three times, he has also had a solo exhibition in Glasgow and exhibited in a number of group shows in London. He has just completed an MA in Print Making.

 


Melanie Watkins

Young Artists Programme Coordinator and

Kenisngton Palace studios Coordinator

 

Melanie has an undergraduate Degree in Visual Arts and a Masters Degree in Arts Administration. She has worked in various roles in museums and galleries in London and Sydney. Melanie is also an artistic photographer and has been in group exhibitions internationally, her work can be found on her blog here.
